PHRI Senior Scientists PJ Devereaux and David Conen have co-authored an opinion piece in The Globe and Mail, calling for greater support to grow and protect Canadian biotechnology innovation.

The authors describe how Canadian research has led to major medical breakthroughs, but often, the economic benefits have gone elsewhere. They argue that Canada has the science, talent, and infrastructure to grow its own biotechnology sector, and they suggest practical ways to better support Canadian innovation here at home.

The article was written in collaboration with Maura Campbell, President and CEO of OBIO.
