PHRI Scientist Darryl Leong will present at Heart Rhythm 2023 on an echocardiogram sub-study of the ATLAS S-ICD trial, titled: Effects of Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator Leads on the Tricuspid Valve and Right Ventricle: A Randomized Comparison of Transvenous ICDs (TV-ICD) vs Subcutaneous Leads (S-ICD).
At HRS 2022, PHRI Senior Scientist Jeff Healey presented on the ATLAS trial’s findings that the S-ICD reduced the risk of lead-related complications by 92% compared to the TV-ICD. Healey, co-PI Blandine Mondésert, of Montreal Heart Institute, and their team published the results in Annals of Internal Medicine in December 2022.
