Population Health Research Institute’s Drs. Hertzel Gerstein and Sonia Anand were inducted today as Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS).
The same day, McMaster University’s Parminder Raina and Mark Loeb were also inducted into the CAHS, among the total of 50 health sciences researchers from universities across the country.
CAHS Fellow is one of the highest honours within Canada’s academic community. Serving as unpaid volunteers, they are nominated by their institutions and peers and “selected in a competitive process based on their internationally recognized leadership, academic performance, scientific creativity and willingness to serve,” says CAHS’s website. See full list of CAHS Fellows. (Earlier inductees include Dr. Salim Yusuf, Executive Director, PHRI.)
